The main objectives of this round table were:

• to analyse the importance of live music in the development of European music,
• to inform European professionals, notably from the new Member States, of the work undertaken by the European Commission in this domain,
• to express the hopes and wishes of the professionals in accordance with the new cultural programme to be started in 2007.
